Lo mai kai laundry

The other day when we were doing house chores together, Mr Choe excitedly came up to me and said, "Hey Hey, do you want some lo mai kai?". I thought he bought lo mai kai for me, knowing that it's one of my favourite dim sum dishes.

So in my mind, I was picturing this. But still a little skeptical that he actually bought lo mai kai because it was already late night..

Lo mai kai; translated to glutinuous rice steamed with chicken.

Then, Mr Choe led me into the room where I found this.

Laundry, shaped into lo mai kai by the laundry basket.

%&^%#$&*&%#@%!!!

-.-"

Ahh, the adventures with Mr Choe. Lol.

Princess Kate was here!

I have been sick for two days so it's good excuse to be blogging ain't it? :)

And guess what! I went to see Princess Kate in KLCC last Friday!

It all started with me posting this video on my Facebook. I was contemplating whether to go or not to go. If I go, I will most probably be there alone. If I don't go, I will probably regret giving up the chance to see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity...! Within seconds of posting this video, You Zhuan sent me a msg asking me whether I wanted to go because she herself had been contemplating for the longest time too!! I immediately said yes!

We met each other at KLCC park at 9.45. OMG we were a little late! William and Kate were scheduled to arrive at 10.00 am. So we ran to where they were supposed to arrive and got ourselves a little spot. Phew!! There were so many people that day and I had to zoom and crop some of the pictures below to be able to show you William and Kate. Enjoy the pics!!

The clock on KLCC shows 9.59am! We were all waiting anxiously!!!

The two crazy girls that went!
We even tried to coordinate our clothes and decided on pants and a light top.
I naturally picked my Topshop top because it's British. Haha.

See that buggy? Hehe.

We were then given Malaysian flags..

You Zhuan and her flag. Haha.

Cheer cheer! We were led to practise some cheer for the Prince and Princess.

And here comes Their Royal Highnesses!! Kate looked stunning in white.

This silat troupe led the way.
As it is a Cultural Walkabout, we must have traditional martial arts leading the way. haha.

Hello! The royal couple looked as stunning as ever.

Kate in white Beulah London dress and nude LK Bennett pumps.

Look at the number of people!! I lose! I am not tall enough nor are my hands long enough to fight with all these people trying to get their shots of the royal couple. *give up*

William and Kate trying on some traditional musical instruments.

Aww... She is just so sweeettt! Both William and Kate waving at the crowd.

There were dancers dancing along while the royal couple took their stroll.

And, that's the end of the Cultural Walkabout at KLCC Park.
Say bye bye to William and Kate!

As I look around, I see so many tired but happy faces.
Yes it's tiring to be squeezing with so many others yet HAPPY that we got to see William and Kate!

Lunch at Ben's afterwards. Hhehehee. We were so contented we couldn't stop smiling.

Toll to KLCC, via Penchala Link and Duke Highway = RM4.00.
KLCC car park = RM18.00
Lunch at Ben's = RM50.00
Saying HI and BYE to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge = PRICELESS!

Hahhahahaa. Kareen commented I was princess obsessed because I can't contain my excitement of the whole trip and was talking about the Princess all day long. =.=

And and and, I realised the new pair of shoes that I bought is very very similar to the pair of nude pumps by LK Bennett that the princess always wears!! *princess obsessed*

This is Kate's.

This pair is mine. Muahahaha.

Do pay a visit to http://hrhduchesskate.blogspot.com/ to follow Kate's tour and all her fashion picks! (Thanks You Zhuan for recommending me the site!) If you follow this blog enough, you'll notice that this pair of nude pumps is one of Kate's favourite. Awesommeeee. LOL. The fact that I have one similar pair makes it all the MORE AWESOMMEE. :P

Noteworthy Noteworthie

Sponsored Post

I need scrapbooking ideas! Hehhehe. To decorate my noteworthy Noteworthie scrapbooks! Hehhehe. Don't you think this Noteworthie name is just so noteworthy? Hhaha. I keep playing with the word because I think it really sounds noteworthy and cool! :D

For the past two weeks I was looking for books with no lines then I asked Noteworthie whether they have such books and they recommended me these hardbound journals. Lines limit my creativity ok so I was really happy to find these at Noteworthie! You know it is so difficult to find a nice little book with no lines.

These are just two of the various designs at Noteworthie.

So obviously I chose this. Hahhaa.
This front cover is so cute and meaningful.
It reads "Keep a Green Tree in Your Heart and Perhaps a Singing Bird Will Come".
It reminds me everyday to have a good heart and good things will come. :))
So subtle yet so powerful~!

I am a shy (hahaa) person so I will just show you three pages of my Noteworthie journal ok. I also would like to decorate my scrapbook more so please accept these undecorated pages for now. Haha.

These are principles I adopt from Og Mandino. An amazing author.

*power of affirmation* Hahaha.

This page is inspired by Glee's I Came to Win / I Believe I Can Fly mash-up. (yes I watch Glee)
Psst.. No fish were harmed during this commercial. Hahahhaa.

Apart from these hardbound journals, Noteworthie has a wide range of unique products. And they are planning to launch more! That's why you need to LIKE Noteworthie's Facebook page now! :)

What's more, in this month of September, for every item you purchase you are actually supporting the cause to better mental health! 15% of ALL your purchases go to HELP World Mental Health Day. If you are still clueless about this event, read here. Their Heartwarming Inspirations tagline fits the cause so well. If you see a friend depressed, down and unmotivated, maybe give them a Noteworthie to cheer them up? Everybody needs positive words of encouragement, even we ourselves! You will find that Noteworthie items carry positive messages very well. :)

And, Noteworthie will also be at this Frenzy Bazaar so be sure to show your support!

Ok now this is off-topic. Hahaha. But I dont know how my blue marker pen and my yellow blade can stand like that for the whole day. Left them there before I went out and when I came home at night, they are still standing like that.

This shows their dedication to continue working on a Noteworthie scrapbook. LOL.

HELP World Mental Health Day

Which do you think is more important? Mental health or physical health?

Ok I am not asking you to respond with an essay to me, debating this out. Haha. I just wanted to point out that I believe, both are equally as important. In fact, mental health may even bring about excellent physical health.

Just recently, a person close to us was diagnosed with cancer. We were more than willing to help him get back on his feet. We offered him a place to stay, sent him to hospital for radiotherapy treatment everyday, encouraged him, did everything in our capacity to help. After two months of us taking care of him, he went home for a short break. The doctor said he needed three weeks of rest before he could continue on his chemotherapy treatment. So we thought we could all rest for three weeks. Just into the first week of this break, we received news that he passed away. He looked like he was progressing well and responding well to his treatments so I thought long and hard on what could be the cause of his death and after one day, I thought to myself, it could be a psychological one because I could sense that he was really down at times. Hence I thought the cancer got serious and he did not have the will to fight and therefore succumbed to illness. The next day, I received the shock of my life when we received news that he actually committed suicide. It breaks my heart to even write this now. We suspected that he could not handle the pressure and always thought that he was and will be a burden to us and his family and decided to take his own life. Till now we do not really know what went through his mind leading to his decision to end his life.

I have always sort of wanted to tell this story here but never really know how because I was still dealing with the shock that came with this news and the sad reality that he is no longer here.

However, I think right now is a good opportunity to share this story, in conjunction with HELP World Mental Health Day. And the theme this year, which I can relate to really well, is Depression: Suicide.

When Ai Ting told me about this event and asked me if I wanted to write about it, I immediately agreed because right now it's a cause that I support.

HELP World Mental Health Day is organised by a group of psychology students to raise public awareness on mental health and its importance. The keyword here is AWARENESS. If we are all aware of depression and its symptoms, we could always lend a helping hand or seek professional help on this matter. It is often that we don't recognise depression and its symptoms, and often, only when it's too late, do we know that the people we cared about were indeed suffering from depression.

The team has done very good job in promoting HELP World Mental Health Day thus far.

First flash mob in One Utama.

A teaser on HELP World Mental Health Day.

It's weird, I thought I hang out in One Utama very often but I missed the flash mob. Hahahah. :P

The BIG event will be on 12th-13th October 2012 at Piazza, The Curve, Mutiara Damansara. This team of courageous HELP students have lined up many activities leading to this big day so be sure to spot them around!

How to get involved?

1) Group into a team of 10 people and plan a flash mob in every mall in the city.

3) Watch their Youtube videos on WMHDProductions.
4) Tell your family and friends about this.
5) Show your support by attending the roadshows.

This is the upcoming roadshow to promote the cause and raise funds.
So maybe you could drop by!
But, I'm very sorry to tell you that I do not know where is KPD A.
Ask them on their Facebook page ok. Only HELP students will know I guess. Hhehe.

And I heard, a second flash mob is coming to you real soon!!

The party that didn't require me to drive

Have you been to a house party where the hosts wear ties, where there is an LCD monitor just dedicated to display the Malaysian flag and where every guest is entitled to a free tour of the house? Hahaha. I bet you will say NO, so it's one win for me!

Amir just moved into a condo, which turns out to be just next to my place, along with 4 other friends and they decided to throw a party! But it wasn't till I asked him about the theme of the party that he told me it is formal. Really?? A formal house party? "Yeah I am wearing a tie now". Oh okayyyy... What type of host doesn't tell you the theme of the party beforehand? The type like Amir. Hahahahaha.

Nevermind, this was compensated by the fact that he greeted me at the lobby and showed me the way to his new pad, though there were signboards for guests to follow. Haha.

5.5 meters more!

I am here~!

One silly pose at the entrance.

Guests sign in by taking a pic on this Mac.
Oh did I mention, this house is full of Mac laptops! LIKE!
There, told you about the LCD monitor dedicated to display the Malaysian flag right?

Look at this picture properly - one sign saying FOOD WE ARE GIVING YOU,
another says FOOD WE WISH WE WERE GIVING YOU.
I should have written a note there, FOOD I WISH YOU ARE SERVING ME. Haha.

This party had the hosts playing characters. And they really carried their characters very well.

Here I am with the Manager, Khairul.
He said to me, "I am always here to help if you have any complaints or suggestions"
Professionalism at its best wtf hahaha.
But, do you guys notice something here? We both could fit onto one Ikea chair omg!

Amir says he is the Behind-the-scene Manager.
But, behind-the-scene no need to wear tie right? Hahah.

Pictured with eyes closed is our Tour Guide, Javier.
He did not miss out a single book shelf! Lol.

He is also Performer of the night.
Gaddafi (behind the Performer) is the Professional Masseur, he was giving massages FOC.
Aiyah, too bad you missed the party, the food and the free massage.
Ok wait I just made that up.

Then, the Manager turned into a Magician!
I will not spill the beans by telling you his magic tricks.
Next time buy a ticket to watch him ok!

Then, there's a Waiter that I didn't manage to take pictures with and many many others, some from Groupon, JomSosial, Says.my. I keep hearing "Groupon" so I assume most of them are from Groupon. Haha. At one point, we didn't have place to sit and that's how awesome this party was. Hhehehe.

Halfway through, Amir discovered this sesat curtain railing.

And I discovered this memorial for Andy, who was an intern at Groupon, if I heard it right.
So where in the world is Carmen Sandiego Andy? Mysterious huh? Hahhaa.

Thanks Amir for inviting me to this cute and cool party! I know cute and cool shouldn't exist in the same sentence. Hahhaha. It was a great way to end the month of August and I can see that they put a lot of effort in drawing signs. Ahahhaha.

Since the current trend is OOTD, I also don't want to miss out la. Hahaha.
Polka dots spaghetti top - Forever 21.
Skirt - Cotton On.
Bag - Longchamp (eh do I need to mention this or not? I think everybody knows la..)
Red ballerina flats - Aldo.

Ok as you can see, I am not used to telling people what I wear. Hahhaha. Maybe I need more practice. :P
