Eight-hour date

On Wednesday Mr Choe brought me out to a movie and a dinner date and a jalan-jalan date. It's been a LONG time since we've spent a few hours out on a date, just the two of us. Well, we also celebrated our 4th year together. Hmm, four years together is not easy, we've been through our ups and downs in life, and we are just glad that we have each other all throughout.

Okay this entry is not about our rollercoaster story. Hehe.

I finally had the chance to watch The Avengers after a long long time it opened in Malaysia. I enjoyed all the Iron Man antics but felt that there could be more depth to the story line. Oh well, action movies are supposed to be less story and more action.

Then, dinner at Hard Rock cafe. Braved the jam on a Wednesday evening to get to the city.

Mr Choe stands for Monster Choe sometimes.

At last I found some kind of photo collage app that I could use.
(Does anyone have any other recommendation? Hhehe.)

Then Ochado for dessert!

Okay actually here I was quite kampung again, this is only the second time I have tried Ochado. I feel that Ochado's pearls are more fun to chew on than Chatime. First they are smaller, second they take lesser time to chew and swallow. First reason and second reason are related. Hahaha. This flavour that I took was Grape Yogurt Aloe Vera + Pearls. What a longgg name, but forgiven, because it's nice!

We had a great time just sitting by Ochado and talking and talking. A relaxing date! ;))

Then, I can't wait to tell you this - we stumbled upon an art gallery in Pavilion! It's called Ode to Art gallery. Well it's not that huge but we spent quite some time there too. Most memorable pieces were the Coplu pieces and David Kracov sculptures.

OMG I think I am so so addicted to Coplu already. His paintings are so full of life, full of colour and FULL of LOVE. I can't stop looking at them. You can admire his paintings at Coplu website. I can't copy and paste them here if not I will get sued by my favourite artist at this moment. Hahaha. But come to think about it, it may be a good thing LOL. If he is gonna sue me, then I can meet him and maybe ask him to quickly paint something on my white T-shirt or something. Haha.

Mr Choe said "next time wanna get one of these in our house?", in my heart I was like "yeahhh!", in my head I was like "my goodness they cost RM20-30K a piece". But if you can see from his website they are selling at USD1k++ a piece, how come every time when good things come to Malaysia they become so expensive?? Sigh..

Then David Kracov's art sculptures were very cute too. In the gallery they displayed the one with lotsa hearts and one with lotsa butterflies and they are full of life too! If I'm not mistaken, he is the featured artist at Ode to Art gallery currently. I suggest you just head down to Pavilion and give Ode to Art gallery a visit! Then tell me which are your favourites! Hehehe.

So I was happy that I had an 8-hour date that ended with us discovering Coplu and David Karcov.
Yay!

Honey Ys

Since when has Honey Stars evolved to Honey Ys?
Obviously there is no Six Sigma quality control for Honey Stars because if they did, for every ONE Million Honey Stars, there should only be 3.4 defects.

But look...

Gone were the GOOD old days when Honey Stars were all STARS...

Nestle is celebrating their 100th birthday this year. I miss my Honey STARS.

******************
Updates:

Apparently, these are probably not defects. They are Honey Rockets, according to Yun. Hahhaa.
If this is so, they should have named their cereal Honey Space or sth right, not Honey Stars because it is simply misleading and I am not to be blamed for thinking there were indeed defects in my cereal!
Then, under the name of Honey Space, they can have Honey Stars, Honey Rockets, Honey Astronauts, Honey Moon. Hhahahahaa.

How to "open" a cheque

Today I will teach you how to "open" a cheque. Haha. Actually, it's how to transform a cheque into cash. This manual is useful so that the next time any bank teller tells you to "open" a cheque, you can act like a pro and not like a jakun like me today! In my mind, I am not even sure whether "open" is the correct term but she used it so I'll just stick with it till someone comes around and tell me the right term ok. *Help!*

The story goes like this: I needed to do a transfer today and I asked the bank to deduct from my account directly then the lady said cannot, I have to do it from my account home branch. But then that's in Penang so it makes no sense to travel back to Penang just to do a transfer. I pressed for alternatives then she said "oh okay, actually if you have cheque, you can "open" the cheque to make it cash." Luckily I brought my cheque book along. *smart* hahaha.

So here's how:

1) Write "CASH" beside "PAY".
2) Write the amount you want beside "RINGGIT MALAYSIA"
3) Then sign at three places on the cheque, as indicated with the pink circles.

Tah dah! Three simple steps and your cheque becomes cash.
Act like a pro the next time someone tells you this! If not, it means I have failed. Hahhaha.
(Maybe you already know this so I'm left as the only jakun who thinks that other people are also jakun. Hahahhaha.)

If I know what love is, it's because of you

Took this a while ago while traveling in the US. Such a random and simple graffiti on a wood plank but the words mean so much.

Why I decided to revive my blog

I have not been blogging for YEARS. Recently I had the thought the of reviving my blog at Wordpress but I found out I have forgotten my password to my Wordpress blog. That's how long I have not blogged. There are reasons I feel like blogging again, though I am nervous and worried that this new blog will again be abandoned by its owner. ;( So people, please motivate me to keep blogging ok? heheh.

I know Kareen will motivate and encourage me because when I told her about my intention to blog again, she was like 'Go REGISTER now!!" Then I was like, "really? now??". Then she even opened blogger and tested the availability of magicporridgepot.com. Sadly, someone has already taken that name. Then we were brainstorming the name I should use for my blog but I really wanted to stick to Magic Porridge Pot. Hahaha.

So I came up with a few names:
themagicporridgepot - taken.
demagicporridgepot - Kareen said the "de" in front of magicporridgepot is damn distracting.
Then, I thought I was smart, to add a "t" behind the name which makes it,
magicporridgepott - I thought it was cool. But then Kareen said, No WAY, people will make fun of this name, because people can conveniently add a "y" at the end and it will become
magicporridgepottY. hahahhahahaha. I couldn't stop laughing and I know I had to write this down.

After much thinking, we figured I would just add hyphens to make this blog
magic-porridge-pot.blogspot.com.

That is how magic-porridge-pot.blogspot.com was born!!!

Back to the reasons why I feel like blogging again:
1) I want to remember the memories. I know I am getting old ahhaha. In a few years, I will be 30, then 40, then ... I only get to be 20-sth once in my life. And I really think I should record down the events and experiences in my life, if not one day when I look back, I may be thinking to myself, what was I like when I was 20-sth????
2) I want to keep in touch with my friends. Often, I get WhatsApp messages, or Facebook messages, or SMSes asking me "What's up", "How's it going", "What are you up to these days", "How's life", etc... Normally I would just go "i am doing good", "i am doing fine", "life's treating me well" - these answers are so boring, they say nothing! So, instead of me answering lame one-liners like this, next time I can tell people to read my blog! Hehehee.
3) I have a talent hobby in photography and I want to showcase them somewhere. Lol. See I use the word showcase. Hahhaa. Actually nothing much to showcase la, just wanna share with friends only. Facebook lowers the resolution and hence the quality of the pictures I post. It makes my pics look not nice. Ok la, actually it's because my camera is not the super keng type, that's why the pictures also not that high quality. But I still blame Facebook partially. LOL. I also do make Photobooks but only people who come to my place can see them. So I thought why not I post them in my blog. Hehe.
4) I feel like writing again. Is that cliche? lol. Everyone thinks they are a writer haha. I don't claim to write very very well but at least, writing gives me some kind of escapism which I kinda miss. And sometimes when I'm alone at home, all I want to do is to write something instead of surfing Facebook. Heheh.

So there you go - the reasons I feel like blogging again. If in any case I feel unmotivated again, please show this post to my face! haha.

Oh, here I also want to promote Kareen's blog - http://kareeneats.blogspot.com/ . She is always our food advisor. We only need to tell her what we feel like eating and she will bring us to wherever. ;) Hope that you find her food reviews helpful!!
